Priority E-health Standards
Project Summary
Anson Consulting provided the project leader for a project to identify the priority electronic health–related standards required for the continued progress of e-health within Australia. The prioritisation was required to address gaps in the existing e-health standards development arena through identification of new standards development needs, and the enhancement or acceleration of existing standards development activities.
Project Outcome
The analysis was fed into the annual work plan of the Health Informatics Standing Committee (HISC)—a joint standing committee of both the National Health Information Standards and Statistics Committee (NHISSC) and the National Health Chief Information Officer Forum (NHCIOF). The analysis identified a list of 21 standards that should be given top priority in development in order to support the progress of e-health in Australia. This result was also confirmed through review by a group of selected subject matter experts.
